For the surprising title, actually it is a French joke which doesn't mean anything in English !
I just arrive at Phuket during the night. Early this morning, I took a bus to khaki Lak. Khao Lak is the starting point for diving tour on board to Similan Islands. This will be also my starting point to the jungle at Kao Sok.
I found this morning, a last minutes price for a boat leaving in the evening For 4 days with 14 fun dives ! Similan is ranking asone of best dive sites in the world... We will see.
Before leaving, I downloaded the pictures from Chaing Mai. I think I will have time to complete them wit text/comments Belfort leasing. I know that some people will complain because there is no english version but I will use the 4 days in boat to work my english. At least, with 30 guests on board and in cabin for 4, I am not sure I will find the time for translation. At least, I will work my oral english. (as you can read English now, it means I doing my job !)
New camera... I switch to Sony, following an analysis on Internet. So after 3 lumix Panasonic, I change. The new camera, directly imported from HK, is the Sony HX50V. I will tell you later how good are the pictures but you can already check by yourself with the ones from Chiang Mai.
3 days at Chiang Mai, walking around, get lost a lot in the streets and in the numerous temples. I manage to get lost meanwhile usually I have a very sense of orientation. We did also a visit to an elephant camp and had a cooking class.
The elephant camp, even if it is very touristic, stay quite impressive by the agility of the elephants. The Mastain family enjoyed (mostly the children) this part of Thailand, and I understand why. I guess anyway that Alice try to avoid contact with this big animals ? For me, I made a new friend !
You can appreciate the artist existing in the elephant. It is almost as good as my drawings, or better.
The visit of the camp was followed by an ethnic groups village. Few ethnic group from the region and Myanmar are gathering here. Ching Mai is inside the golden triangle with China, Laos and Myanmar. The long neck, Karen ethnic group, for example are coming from Myanmar.
The village is well organized. Each group is not exposed like a zoo. People are smiling, they accept kindly pictures without asking money... I urge because I have to leave for the boat.
As you see, I met the long neck people ! I really didn't think I would find them here ...neither met them one day. They keep their tradition and even children are wearing these heavy necklace
Here few pictures of the hotel, from the cooking class ( yes, I know how to cook Thai food now... In fact, I cut 2 or 3 vegetables only). We prepared a coconut milk soup, a green curry with coconut milk and bananas with coconut milk. Everything was super good. I have to mention that the hotel is super class that why good was good. The hotel is over my budget and seems to be meeting point of American movie star.
Here some pictures of Chiang Mai temples. The area is well known for its 500 temples, so you can not miss them.
And as, comparison is not reason...I will still compare. I prefer Luang Prabang as town with Buddhist temples. It is smaller, but I still prefer them.
As all employee of L'Oreal, I look around every new trends. And I found the tribes of the "little girl who loves to made up"
